Public Reception for Flowers for Amir Exhibit

Thursday, November 12, 2026 / 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM

Developed with support from the New York State Council on the Arts and the Bosnian American Community Association, Flowers for Amir is a new project by Ithaca-based photographer, Brian Arnold. Rooted in an interest in the Western Balkans/former Yugoslavia, this exhibit is an attempt to connect with and understand the Bosnian diaspora community in Utica. Emphasizing both portraits and landscapes, this project utilizes community engagement as a tool for exploring some of the unique characteristics of Utica that are built on connections between people and their lived environment. Flowers for Amir is a social documentary project about an important, unique, and under-represented community of Central New York.
Flowers for Amir will be on display from November 12, 2026 until January 4, 2027.
