The River Photograph Exhibit Opening and Slide Lecture with Matt Burnett
Monday, December 01, 2025 / 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM
Please join us on Monday December 1st at 6pm for a slide lecture by Artist, Photographer and Guide Matt Burnett to share the growth and success of the Northern Forest Explorers Program and also to answer questions for future paddlers. Burnett will recount highlights from 10 years of youth outdoor programming in the Adirondack Wilderness. Many of the photographs in this exhibition include adventures featuring Midtown Utica Community Center, who have joined us for paddling, ice fishing and many other adventures.
Working with participants ranging from 8-18, the Northern Forest Explorers offer multiday paddling and outdoor living experiences for children ranging from a little to a lot of outdoor experience. The program, which is sponsored by several non-profit organizations (including the Northern Forest Canoe Trail, The Long Lake Fish and Game Club, the Long Lake Lions Club, and the Long Lake Association) aims to provide quality educational experiences in the Adirondacks for people across New York State, emphasizing outdoor living, environmental conservation, Leave-No-Trace, and teambuilding and inclusion.
Over a decade of programming, Matt Burnett Guiding has partnered with several organizations aimed at expanding these opportunities to more communities.
Photograph exhibit will be in the gallery from December 1 - January 30.
Refreshments to follow lecture.
