Universally Acknowledged: Jane Austen and the Cult of Adaptation
Tuesday, December 09, 2025 / 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM
Dr. Nicole Lyn Lawrence will give a lecture on Jane Austen's legacy and her works' influence on culture as they were adapted.
This lecture is in honor of Jane Austen's 250th birthday, and is part of the Jane Austen Series at UPL.
Dr. Nicole Lyn Lawrence is an Assistant Professor of English at Utica University, where she teaches British literature, often with attention to literary representations of identity, culture, and belonging. Her love of Jane Austen began at a young age, and she has devoted countless hours to exploring all things Austen—rereading the novels, studying their historical and cultural contexts, and delighting in new adaptations, retellings, and related media.
