LECTURE TOPIC:
“THE YOUNG LIBERATORS: 75th ANNIVERSARY COMMEMORATION
OF THE D-DAY INVASION & NORMANDY CAMPAIGN”
The Young Liberators is the record of a solitary American GI
during World War II. It is the saga of a United States infantry
company of 200 men. A regiment of four thousand.
One National Guard division of fifteen thousand soldiers
called into Federal Service in 1940. Courageous men
forgotten to many except their family and comrades.
PFC Kenneth C. Thayer was with the United States 30th Infantry Division
which participated in every major western European campaign,
from Normandy to the Elbe River. He is just one of
the many decorated heroes of the division.
