Young Adult

Youth Services @ Utica Public Library provides a wide variety of materials and programs for teens and young adults ages 13-19.

From popular fiction, graphic novels, magazines and manga to cool nonfiction on topics as diverse as video games, teen health, drawing & art, sports, and current events, you will definitely find something among the materials in the young adult area to spark your interest.

The library offers many programs for teens, from writing and art groups to video games, there is always something fun going on. Check the calendar for what's happening.

Volunteering

In addition, Utica Public Library is a great place for teens and young adults to volunteer. Many classes require volunteer service as part of their curriculum, and while the library can't guarantee a volunteer spot to everyone, we try to accommodate as many students as possible. To apply to volunteer, fill out the Volunteer Application Form, and drop it off in the Children's Room.

Teen Advisory Board (TAB)

One great way to volunteer at the library, earn community service hours, and make a difference both at the library and in the local community, is to join the Teen Advisory Board (TAB). TAB meets monthly and is an opportunity for teens ages 13-18 to provide input about what materials and services the library should provide to young adults. In addition, TAB will be striving to make a positive impact on the greater Utica area as a whole through its activities. Be sure to check the calendar for upcoming TAB meetings.
