The Children’s Room at Utica Public Library is the center of all Youth Services activity at Utica Public Library and it provides a wealth of fun and resources for children ages birth through adulthood, along with their caregivers and parents, and teachers and other educators, as well.
The Children’s Room is home to over 134000 Children's books including picture books, easy readers, juvenile fiction, graphic novels and manga, and nonfiction. We also have many DVDs, CDs of children’s music, audiobooks on CD, and a variety of magazines. Our Foreign Language collection contains book and A/V materials for ESL and in 16 languages, and the Parenting and Teacher collections both contain a wealth of materials. The Children’s Room also offers themed Story Time Bags that contain a week’s worth of stories and activities which can be borrowed and used at home or at your organization.
In addition, the Children’s Room features 10 internet accessible computers, 3 preschool game (non-internet) computers, toys and games, places to read and hang out, and the ABC Restaurant, an early literacy activity area that may be a bakery, a pizza shop, or some other fun and tasty learning establishment when you stop in!
