Monday Through Friday 8:30 am to 8:00 pm ----- Saturday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm ----- Sunday  1:00 pm to  5:00 pm

Computer Lab Policies


  • Ages: 13-18
  • Computer reservations:
    • To use a computer, you must SIGN IN with the lab monitor.
    • Sign up requires FIRST and LAST NAME, and AGE. If you have a library card, please show it to the lab monitor. If you do not have a library card, you may apply for one at the Circulation Desk, or you may receive a Guest Pass.
  • Time limits:
    • 30 MINUTES – time may be extended by the lab monitor if no one is waiting to use a computer
    • HOMEWORK - there will be no time limit for anyone actively doing homework, unless others are waiting to do homework (not waiting to use the computers for any other use), at the discretion of the lab monitor
    • If you use the computer lab, you may not then use computers in the Children’s Room during the same day.
  • Acceptable computer usage in the Computer Lab:
    • Homework
    • Online games
    • Social networking – Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, chatting, etc.
    • YouTube
    • Other usage, that does not disturb or offend other users of the Computer Lab.
  • Only ONE person per computer:
    • Exception - Group homework assignments: If you are working on a group project and need to have more than one person at the computer, please let the lab monitor know. The lab monitor will attempt to schedule your computer usage for the back row of computers where there is extra space. Please take into consideration the amount of noise you make while working together, so as not to disturb other computer users.
  • Headphones MUST be worn when visiting websites that contain audio.
  • Printing:
    • The first 10 pages of homework printing are free, any beyond that are $.10 per page.
    • Non-homework printing is $.10 per page.
  • Children under age 13 will NOT BE ALLOWED in the Computer LAB.
    • If you are aged 13-18 and have a child under 13 with you, you must stay with that child, and use the computers in the Children’s Room.
  • The lab monitor has the right to deem material and websites unacceptable for viewing.
    • Viewing sites that are offensive to other computer lab users is NOT ACCEPTABLE.
    • Users viewing such sites will receive a warning. A second warning will result in expulsion from the lab for a week. A third warning will lead to increased penalties.
  • Computer lab users are required to follow the same policies for behavior as found in the Children’s Room, and elsewhere in the library.
